summer breakfast + spot the dog

i was unexpectedly spot the dog at work on saturday! i have never been inside one of those costumes before, but i can tell you, it was very hot, and i could only see a sliver of the floor through the mouth. but the children were happy and climbed all over me all through story time. i crack up looking at this picture - i had no idea at the time that there were two boys sitting on both sides of me.

i decided to return to my spring 2009 fashion illustrations inspired by ingmar bergman's stockholm of the 1970s, and draw updated versions - that are up to code with my changing tastes, skills, and style - for my portfolio.

baltimore looks very lovely right now, from our balcony. i am busy addressing one billion promotional postcards to art directors (and that's almost not hyperbole), and z is working on a very beautiful graphite + digital painting self portrait, which i so want to see finished!

after climbing every last one of our belongings up to the fifth floor in ninety degree weather and a conveniently broken elevator, we finally emerged, a week later, from the debris of ikea boxes and found ourselves in our new, very charming, very friendly home.

hello everyone,
there have been a lot of inquiries about prints, especially "elephant dream." i did not expect to get wiped out so quickly, and have been working to get your prints out to you as fast as i could! i spent today and will spend tomorrow at the printers, the cutting board, and post office, so watch my shop for more prints! i will put items on reserve for those of you that have been asking for specific things, so send feel free to email me with requests. thank you all so much for your support!
