yelena bryksenkova said...: this felt a little more personal than i'm used to sharing, so i really appreciate the thoughtful comments. i hadn't anticipated some of your interpretations, but they are very interesting and add a whole other layer to my intention. they remind me of something that happened a couple of years ago:

my dad pulled out his old record player, put on a beatles record, and in the silent room it started to play:

"dum dum dum dum
let's all get up and dance to a song
that was a hit before your mother was born
though she was born a long, long time ago
your mother should know..."

the needle fell out and dissolved shortly after, it was so old.
