natural history

i saw so many beautiful things today at the smithsonian institution's national museum of natural history in washington, dc. you should have seen that sea anemone sway! but the sparkling gems and minerals were my favorite (how can something so cold and lifeless have such a magnetic, all-knowing, mysterious aura?) the birds were okay, too.

I don't know, if you know about a saying here in Germany: "I hate humans, animals and plants - stones are okay." I don't have a clue who said it first, but your post just reminded me in it ^^
