sleeping beauty

another illustration from the upcoming fairytale food by lucie cash: the prince offers aurora homemade chocolate kisses in the hopes of awakening her.

i spent two lovely days with b in kentucky (and southern ohio) and left with a lighter heart, knowing that i will be back in the summer.

This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the see-through part of her dress, how did you do that? :)

Your work is so distinctively yours and this painting is just exquisite. I love all the delicate details you include and the elegance of the figures. I really enjoy your work.

keri-ann, brooke, abigail, sarah - thank you :)

harriet - fantastic, thanks so much! i can't wait to see the book myself

jess -
i did the skirt with white gouache, which was a pain as it smudged the blue underneath at first, but after a few coats it eventually worked out!

judy - thank you for your thoughtful comments about my work, on this post and "snow white)

So so beautiful. As always, really. :) This is so removed from my Indian aesthetic and most of my work is based on the tradional/folk art. but every time i look at your work it's like going away to a different world, and it's beautiful.

I am having a free giveaway on my blog, Yelena. See if you like, and just leave a contact if u do :)
