murakami-inspired, in progress

i am working on something new, and being extra slow and careful because this is my first time working in a bigger size (8 in. by 10.5 inches) in such detail, and also putting one of my people into one of my environments (first time!) this has something to do with haruki murakami's "the wind-up bird and tuesday's women," and "the elephant vanishes."
i did a pencil drawing on bristol and went over the lines in a .005 black micron pen.

and now i taped off the edges and did a very thin wash of blue-grey watercolor. this is also new; i feel like this would eliminate the necessity of having to color in every object in the room, and also it would make the white border look nice when i pull off the masking tape.
